At Bar Buka, we proudly showcase artwork created by women and queer artists from our community. This can include paintings, photography, drawings, poetry, and more.
How does it work?
Every two months, a new artist is featured in our bar. Artists are invited to bring their work to the bar, preferably framed. The idea is that your work is presented in a way that allows it to stand independently on the shelves. It cannot be attached to the wall with pins or tape.
There are five display shelves, each measuring 75 cm wide and 10 cm deep. Your work can be approximately 1.20 metres high.
Please provide a short text about yourself and your work, both in Dutch and English. We will share this on our social media.
Before your work goes on display in our bar, we will arrange a date for casual drinks during your exhibition period so you can share your work with friends and family. Once your work is on display, we will also take a photo of you in front of your artwork. This photo will be featured on our website.
Business cards and price tags can be displayed alongside the artwork, giving guests the opportunity to connect with you directly. We do not take any commission if you sell your work.
Please note: all artwork is exhibited at the artist’s own risk, although our bar is equipped with cameras and an alarm system.
