Although our place is known as a lesbian bar, everybody is welcome!
Every month we have an agenda full of activities, from casual meet ups to pub quizzes, open mic events, speed date afternoons, karaoke evenings and DJ parties.

A great way to start your evening. At Bar Buka we want to bring women together. We hope to offer a safe queer place where you can be yourself, surrounded by like-minded people. We do not only want to attract guests from Amsterdam, but also from other parts of the Netherlands and the world. Being who you are is good enough. No fancy dress code or strict door policy. In general, 95% of our bar is visited by women: of all ages, from all over the country, and from different parts of the world.
Although we focus on the female crowd, our bar is open to everyone, and men are more than welcome as well.
Whether you come alone or in a group, we will give you a warm welcome!
We serve Heineken beer and other high-quality brands. You can order finger food, and you are also allowed to bring your own food.
We sometimes broadcast sports games, especially football. You can sit at the bar or at a table, and we have a box with board games.
During the weekend, we sometimes remove tables so people can dance.
We are not a club nor a restaurant, but a bar in a residential area, so we have to consider maximum volume limits.
We accept Maestro, Visa, Credit Card, American Express, and cash.
It is possible to celebrate anything (e.g., birthday, graduation, casual drinks, bachelorette party) at Bar Buka and we can create an area for you and your group.

Every second Saturday of the month, we host karaoke nights.
For karaoke events on other days, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
Our bar is closed from Monday to Wednesday, but we are willing to open for private groups/companies, corporate events, business groups.
Who doesn’t like to get shots on the house?
All you need to do is send an email to connect@barbuka.nl and tell us that you will celebrate your birthday in our bar with 7+ friends and we will give you a round of shots for free.
